The Livingstone MethodTM

Our unique process is organized around a 7 phase approach:

Phase 1: (GL)The Green Light.  First we provide you with a proposal. If you wish to go forward, we require a 50% deposit and a signed proposal before we begin working on your new project.

Phase 2: (TD)The Template Day.   Precise measurements are taken at the installation site and are then used to create your custom molds. Some projects will not require a site template, although a site visit is usually recommended.

Phase 3: (CPP)The Customer Preference Palette.   Once the process is under way, clients are invited to explore color, finish and casting options. Custom coloring can also be considered if the client prefers to match a color that's already in the design scheme. In addition, all inlay and feature decisions must be decided upon as well.

Phase 4: (FW)The Form Work.   Custom molds are built to the exact specifications of your project by our skilled craftsmen. Depending on the application, they are made from wood, plaster, plastic, or rubber.

Phase 5: (CC)The Cast and Cure.   Our proprietary mix is batched with precision and poured into the finished molds. Once cast, the concrete begins to cure. During this time excess water evaporates from the material while the water's weight is replaced by air.

Phase 6: (FT)The Final Touch.   After curing, the painstaking task of smoothing and hand-polishing begins. This is the final touch that brings the magic of concrete to life. What emerges is a completely custom, individually designed piece of art.

Phase 7: (PI)The Power Install.   By now we will have contacted you and scheduled an installation date and time. Depending on the project, an installation can take a few hours or up to a few days.

This unique process takes between 4-6 weeks to complete, dependent upon uncharacteristically inclement conditions.

When planning for the weight of a concrete element, it's best to use the mass of natural stone, granite or marble as an approximate guideline.
